The Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command, Rear Adm. Sanusi Ibrahim, says it impounded 25 vessels used in illegal oil bunkering in 2021. In his address of welcome at the 2021 Eastern Naval Command ceremonial “Sunset’’ held at NNS Jubilee on Thursday Ibrahim said the Command’s effective patrol made the impounding possible. Ibrahim enjoined Navy personnel not to rest on their oars, but to always conduct themselves in accordance with ethos and traditions of the Navy and renew their commitment to national security. Akpan, a former Flag Officer commanding Western Naval Command commended the Eastern Naval Command for achievements recorded, especially in the area of infrastructure development. Navies ceremonial sunset is an age-old ceremony observed worldwide to officially mark end-of-year activities.
